High Chair

One of Daks' favorite toys is his high chair. He is constantly climbing in the basket, or standing behind it to pull the seatbelt through. January 28, 2006 

We Can Share

Daks and I shared a candy bar. I ate the candy bar and Daks ate the wrapper. It seems to be his favorite part! January 27, 2006 

Play Ball!

Our neighbor, Dylan, came over to play. He showed Daks how to play "catch". We had to explain that Daks doesn't know how to catch a ball because he's small still. So Dylan would roll it to him. They both had lots of fun! Garrick taught Daks how to KICK the ball. We thought it ws pretty cute until the next day when Daks kicked a baby at church... January 26, 2006

We keep thinking that Daks will walk soon. The closest we've gotten is that he will walk if we hold one of his hands instead of both. January 26, 2006

Taking A Nap

Daks was placed in his high chair to play. Next thing we knew he had fallen asleep! You can see the tips of his toes barely sticking out from under the tray since he always pulls that leg up under there when he's in the high chair. Again, as so often is the case, it didn't look very comfortable, but that doesn't seem to matter to him! January 25, 2006 

And He's Off!

I guess Daks was anxious to go on another trip before we even unpacked from the last one? He had lots of fun climbing all over these suitcases. When he wanted down he would get as close to the edge as he could, tip forward, and fall until his head hit the floor. Then he would try to pull the rest of his body down by crawling onto the floor. Once he got down he would turn around and climb back up again! January 24, 2006 

Little Monster

Daks so kindly ate my Church Lesson Manuals. As you can see, he was rather thrilled with himself about it, too. Little stinker. January 23, 2006 

Cute Boy!

If Daks keeps this up he may have a career in modeling. It cracks me up the poses that he gets into all by himself! In this picture Daks was originally heading for the lamp on Mom and Dad's bed. But he took a short break to pose for us. January 23, 2006 

8 Months Old

Hot Fudge Face

Tia Tiah came to see us and Daks and I decided to go back with her and visit for a few days. Grandma Rosie took us out for ice cream and Tiah and I gave him little bites of our ice cream. Turns out he really likes it! He would get mad at us if we put the spoon in one of our mouths instead of his. And as you can see, he got it all over his face! January 18, 2006 

Half Daks

I think he could be in the circus with this trick. Daks is so flexible he could fold into a little box or something. Lately this has been his choice position to fall asleep in. Bent in half. It sure doesn't look comfortable, but he seems to like it! January 14, 2006 

Mr. T

This picture was taken to demonstrate Daks' immense strength. Notice how all of the toys on his exersaucer are bent toward him? He grabs them and pulls them as close as he can to himself so that he can get his mouth around them. Daks got his first tooth a week ago and the second one is on its way as well! January 11, 2006

A New Cousin

Daks got down on the floor to play with his new cousin, Preslee. He was so excited about the baby! As always, he wanted to pull her hair and poke her eyes out... Grandma posed as Ref and kept everything under control. And see Daks standing? He started doing that by himself recently! January 2, 2006 

What's With the Fingers, Guys?

Two of Garrick's high school buddies had their first babies shortly after Daks was born. Daks was born May, Keyan in July, and then Chloe in August. They celebrated the New Year together by sucking on their fingers simultaneously. December 31, 2005

Little Brat

A couple days after turning 7 months old Daks started crawling! A couple days after that he started pulling himself up on things and walking along them. Then he started crawling up stairs. Can't he just be a baby for a little while? December 31, 2005

Yummy!

Daks drank right from the cup! First time he's ever done that! First time he's ever had apple juice, too. He really liked the stuff! He was messy with that cup, but he is with a bottle, too. And we can't ever just have a picture taken of him in the action anymore. As soon as he sees that camera, he cheeses it up! December 30, 2005 

Just For Me!

Daks got to open more presents from Grandma Rosie and his aunt and uncles. He loves, loves, loves the wrapping paper! He got one little piece of paper in his hand from the first present he opened and he kept it clutched in his fist, literally, for HOURS!!! December 26, 2005 

Sweet Potatoes

Daks' Grandma Julie fed him his first sweet potatoes. He LOVED them! A good way to end his First Christmas Day! We took a little road trip on Christmas to visit the Grandparents. We stopped to see my cousins on our way. One of them had some rubber darts for a gun and would hand them to Daks to play with. As soon as they got in his little hand he would drop them on the floor and just LAUGH!!! He thought it was the funniest thing to see this cousin continuously bend over to pick up the darts! I wish I could show the video on here... 

What A Help!

"How Interesting"

Daks often lies on the floor like this now, studying whatever he's holding. Usually books. If he can read a book with his arms straight up in the air...more power to him! 

Wooh Wooh!!!!

Daks gave his daddy something he's always wanted...a train whistle! Except that Garrick wants a REAL TRAIN WHISTLE to put in his car to replace the horn...
