CANDY BARS!!!!

Six days after his first Halloween Daks discovered candy bars. I put an unwrapped chocolate bar in his hand, just to see what he would do. He held onto it and waved it around; he let it melt all over him and his pajamas. But he wouldn't put it in his mouth! He preferred to eat the wrapped candy bars! Posted by Picasa

Hide And Go Seek

I put Daks on the floor, on top of this blanket. A couple seconds later I looked at him and he had rolled over, taking the blanket with him! He was just lying there, looking at a book. Silly boy! November 4, 2005 Posted by Picasa

Comparison

This picture was taken 5 1/2 months after the first one of Daks in his carseat. We just wanted to show how big he REALLY is in his carseat now, since so many people commented that he looked huge in it before. Then was NOTHING compared to now! November 4, 2005. Posted by Picasa

I'm Getting So Big!

November 4, 2005. Daks is sitting up all by himself now! He's been able to sit up for about a month. Now he is good enough that I can leave him like this if I go in another room. Before he was needing help to not fall over backward.Posted by Picasa

Sipping Cider Through A Straw

November 3, 2005. We have been trying to teach Daks to drink through a straw. He still just sticks his tongue out and licks everything. The straw has been thus unsuccessful. We were also trying to get him to drink some prune juice. He would get the first taste in his mouth and rip his head away from the bottle in disgust. He had this nasty look on his face and would smack his tongue against his lips. Usually when Daks gets something in his mouth that he doesn't like he will take it again when offered. Not the prune juice, though! He remembered it.... Posted by Picasa

Garrick's Pumpkin

Now we all know why the dead smiley face is dead...he was shot in the forehead! Garrick even carved an exit wound in the back of the pumpkin and splattered pumpkin brains all over the side of the house. You can kind of see our curtains in the background...they're black with silver skull and crossbone decorations. We did it just for Halloween...in September....and they'll probably be there until next year... Posted by Picasa

Trick-or-Treat

Lincoln and Garrick carved our pumpkins for Halloween. Lincoln carved his of "Leatherface" from "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre". He even used staples for stitches and red wax for blood. He did a really good job! It's not pretty, but I think it's the coolest pumpkin carving I've ever seen. Posted by Picasa

"GO! My favorite sports team!"

October 29, 2005. Talia and Lincoln were in visiting, so we decided to go to our first hockey game. Everytime the Utah Grizzlies made a goal a train horn was sounded. It was VERY loud and Daks does NOT like loud noises! Talia is protecting his little ears as he wonders what is going on. Posted by Picasa

Sleep Tight

I think I know where Daks gets his funny sleeping positions from... Garrick looked so funny lying on the floor with his hands crossed, knees touching, and legs apart. At least he had both of his shoes on. All the liederhosen business wore Dad right out! Posted by Picasa

Daks and Uncle Linc

Uncle Lincoln liked the liederhosen from the beginning. He got a kick out of Daks actually wearing it for the first time. We got lots of cute pictures! Posted by Picasa

Reflection

Everyday I show Daks "the cute baby in the mirror." He LOVES that cute baby! He grins and goos...oh, it's the cutest thing! It almost appears as if he's critiquing himself and making adjustments on his outfit. I had to put velcro on the hat to get it to stay on his head. It's a bit small, while the liederhosen is the only thing he owns that is too big! Posted by Picasa

Pinocchio

October 29, 2005. Daks tries on his Liederhosen that Tia Tiah brought back from Austria. I love his toes in this picture! It almost looks like he's tapping them on the carpet. As you can also see, Daks is starting to stand pretty well if he has a little help! Posted by Picasa

October 25, 2005

We visited the Museum of Church History and Art for one of Garrick's school projects. They had a whole section of art done by children between the ages of 3 and 12. It was really cute and neat! Garrick is sporting a Daks being carried in a baby back-pack, fully installed with binki lanyard so the bink can't be dropped on the ground. Posted by Picasa
